DOWNMARK® (The Down Association of Canada) is dedicated to educating the public about down and feather products.

They monitor the marketplace and conduct an ongoing surveillance program called Down√Check. They purchase items at the retail level from both storefront marketplaces and over the Internet, just like you do, then they send them to an independent lab for testing.

Products that fail testing are posted on the DOWNMARK® website and reported to the Canadian Government.

The OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 is an independent testing and certification system for textiles.

Testing is done for harmful substances including: illegal substances, legally regulated substances known to be harmful, chemicals, as well as parameters for health care.

OEKO-TEX® testing for harmful substances always focuses on the actual use of the textile. The more intensive the skin contact of a product, the stricter the requirements to be met.

Accordingly, there are four product classes:

  • Class I: Textile items for babies and toddlers up to 3 years (clothing, toys, bed linens, terry cloth items etc.)
  • Class II: Textiles used close to the skin (underwear, bed linens, T-shirts etc.)
  • Class III: Textiles used away from the skin (jackets, coats etc.)
  • Class IV: Furnishing materials (curtains, table cloths, upholstery materials etc.)

The superlative pillow fabric.

We start with high quality long staple cotton. In Germany this cotton is spun into fine, yet very strong threads. These are woven with a distinctive weave pattern. The fabric is then sent through a special process that uses high pressure and very specific temperatures to achieve some unique properties. There are no coatings or chemical treatments used to make this fabric down proof and washable. It is accomplished with mechanical and heat processes

The resulting fabric is incomparable for pillows:

  • Exquisitely soft to the touch
  • Completely down proof
  • Enhanced breathability
  • Completely machine washable
  • Long lasting
  • Dust mite proof
  • 300 Thread Count

Superwash Certified

Our pillows are Superwash Certified . This means they can be laundered using domestic machines.

Washing a pillow keeps it free of allergens. It also extends the life of the pillow fabric and restores loft and bounce. The key to being Superwash Certified is our special SoLoft™ ticking.
