But like any luxury item, they do not respond well to common treatment, so we recommend the following simple instructions.

Washing Instructions
These suggestions are for St. Geneve linen products only. For other manufacturers, we recommend you refer to the items care label.
The more linen is washed, the softer and more luminous it becomes. Linen fabric rapidly absorbs moisture which accounts for its coolness and comfort as bed sheets. It is also the only fabric to be stronger when wet than dry, so it does not become tender through washing.
Launder whites, colors, and prints separately. NEVER use bleach or detergents with optical brightening agents. White linen may be washed hot, and colored linens should be washed at medium temperatures. Spin to extract excess water, and stretch damp articles to natural size and shape before ironing. Hot iron linen while still damp, on the wrong side. Avoid tumble drying ~ it is better to hang it to dry on a shower curtain rod where it will dry quickly.
When storing bed or table linens, wrap in acid-free tissue paper or old sheets and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area. Avoid using plastic bags, cedar chests or cardboard boxes, or wrapping linens in regular tissue paper. For prolonged storage, shift linens occasionally to change folded areas. |
